10 Chocolatiers - 50 Amazing Salts - The Great British Salted Chocolate Challenge Begins

Surprisingly just 10 chocolatiers' from all walks of life have entered GBSCC, the national competition to find Britain's best new salted chocolate. Each chocolatier is working towards presenting their salted creations in London on the 6th November at the Judging Event with their eye on the prize including a trip of a lifetime to New York, but more importantly a chance to get their salted chocolate fast tracked into a top London Food Hall in time for Christmas 2014.

The Competitors include some of Britain's most talented and award winning chocolatiers, along with an unknown 18 year old student, a top chef, a patisserie chef and a couple of tiny chocolate businesses and a few talented amateur chocolatiers from all across the UK making up the 10 . The challenge could see anyone win, as it is all down to creativity, flavour combinations and taste. Each chocolatier has been given up to 10 Artisan, Smoked and Fusion salts to work with in developing up to 2 salted chocolates for the challenge.

An expert judging panel has been assembled and the final is being held at Divertimenti, situated at London's Brompton Road on Thursday 6th November 2014. The final will also be attended by top buyers, event planners and industry experts, all looking to the finalist for something new and exciting to bring to the market in 2015, giving each competitor the opportunity to have their salted chocolate seen and tasted by Britain's most influential buyers.

The GBSCC is part of the "Britain Gets Salted" campaign, set up to help educate Britain on the use of quality salt in our daily lives.
